We’ve spotted a new trend and its called Al Desko Dining. With Brits having to tighten their purse strings as a result of the credit crunch, 79% of us are making our sandwiches at home and bringing them into work. Saving money on expensive shop brought sarnies and saving time at work.
According to our research our favourite sandwich is the classic cheese and pickle. The top ten list of the UK’s favourite sandwiches are as follows:
- 1. Cheese and pickle
- 2. BLT
- 3. Ham and cheese
- 4. Egg and cress
- 5. Chicken
- 6. Prawn mayo
- 7. Tuna and sweetcorn
- 8. Turkey and stuffing
- 9. Beef and horseradish
- 10. Smoked salmon and cream cheese
Despite our enthusiasm for making our sandwiches at home, our research reveals that over 1/3 of Brits are stuck in a rut and make the same sandwiches over and over again. Well fear not, whether you are putting together the kids lunchbox or making sandwiches for work to have lunch 'Al Desko Style', we've got some great ideas to get you started!
